The Diary of a DS-Addicted Turtle

Dear Diary,

        Yaaaaaaawn. I wasn't kidding when I said turtles take naps during the winter. Despite wanting to stay up to play Animal Crossing: Wild World, I eventually dozed off and napped for a few days. I was having the most wonderful dream, though. I had finally caught Tortimer's eye, and we had settled on a nice little blue house near the beach. Oh, it was just lovely. However, I was rudely interupted by someone who will not be named (AHEM, BARTLETT) and jolted from my nice dream. Then I remembered that I hadn't logged into my game in a while, and panicked; what had happened to my gardens?

        Luckily, I live with a housemate. It seems like Jess has taken care of my flowers while I was gone. Remember how I was trying to grow a black rose? Well, I got one. And luckily, it managed to survive my little nap. I was surprised how many people wrote in to ask me if my black rose grew! So here's a picture of it. I'll be trying to get a blue rose next, but I hear that they're hard to get.

        There seems like there were a few changes made to my town while I was away. The last expansion was paid off, so there's a new room at the back of my house. Right now, it looks like it's storing some items that Jess isn't using. There were some neat things here, though! I saw a moon, a doll, a wide-screen television, a Raccoon Figure...oh, and I just had to show you a picture of me with my favorite new addition to the house:

        After scoping out the house a bit, I went to speak to the locals to catch up on things. Unfortunately, none of them really seemed very happy to see me. They all acted like I'd been brushing them off. No one understood me when I said that I had been hibernating! It's very strange, I think, because normally, many of them would hibernate too! I guess that when you start wearing clothing and living in a house, you totally lose touch with your wilder side. Maybe they should hibernate, especially that Gwen. I'm not just saying this because she was nasty to me, but she yawns an awful lot, and a little sleep would do wonders for those bags under her eyes.

        Well, hopefully I'll be able to win back their friendship in the next few days. I've already sent out lots of presents, including some of the very nice new spring shirts I saw on sale at the tailor shop. None of my neighbors can turn down a hot outfit! Oh--I hope you noticed that my town is now green again. That was a nice little surprise too. It was very snowy last time I wrote, and this is the first time I've seen the town in full bloom. As a parting note, I think I'll show you my town flag. I think it looks nice, doesn't it?
