Animal Crossing: Wild World -- Features Guide

Welcome to the Animal Crossing: Wild World Features Guide. This is your guide to everything that makes Animal Crossing: Wild World bigger and better than ever.

Animal Crossing: Wild World -- What's New?

  • Perhaps the biggest change to AC:WW is the ability to connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi. For AC:WW features using Wi-Fi, see below and make sure to also take a look at our very own Wi-Fi guide.
  • There are many new characters, and many characters that have only been available in Japanese version. To see a full listing of the characters in Animal Crossing: Wild World, check out the characters page.
  • There will be a barber shop in the Nookington's expansion. The shop, known as the Shampoodle, will be run by Harriet the poodle who will allow you to change your hairstyle and hair color.
  • You will be able to change and make your own constellations by visiting the Observatory. The Observatory is located on the second floor of the museum, and is run by Blathers's younger sister, Celeste. Celeste will allow you to draw constellations in your sky that will be visible to everyone who visits your village at night. You can also pick up constellations by visiting other people's towns. Additionally, the moon will go through different phases.
  • From now on, when you visit The Able Sisters, you will be able to do more than just design patterns. You can now buy clothing there, and accessories such as glasses and hats.
  • You will arrive in your town in a taxicab driven by Kapp'n. The location of your house will be determined during the opening conversation with Kapp'n (when he asks why you're moving to this town).
  • There is a new handheld item--a watering can. This can be used to water dying flowers and bring them back to life.
  • It has been confirmed by Nintendo that there will be no NES games in Animal Crossing: Wild World.
  • The villages in Animal Crossing: Wild World have a more spherical look, almost like a small planet.
  • There is a special machine in Tom Nook's store. Every time you buy an item, it will add points. As your points accumulate, you will receive special items.
  • The stylus plays a big role in AC:WW. You can use it to move, talk to villagers, go into buildings, make textures, and sort through your inventory. Everything you need to do you can do with the stylus.
  • You can have up to four people living or visiting in a village at once. It has been confirmed that all players in the game will have to live in the same house, and have their games on the same card.
  • As characters pay off their debt, their houses will grow. There are six expansions in this game.
  • There are over 650+ new items, but many of the furniture series and sets will return from Animal Crossing GCN.
  • K.K Slider will no longer play on a box in front of the now non-existent Train Station. He now plays in the caf located in the museum, which is run by Brewster (a pidgeon) who sells coffee there.
  • Holidays are no longer a reflection of our holidays, they are completely made up by the designers and producers of AC:WW.

Wi-Fi Features

  • Animal Crossing: Wild World will feature both wireless LAN and Wi-Fi. This will allow people to live in and explore their towns simultaneously, putting the game on a whole new level.
  • With the new Wi-Fi feature, you will be able to visit towns of friends that live thousands of miles away.
  • When visiting another village using Wi-Fi, both people will need to be online for the town to be visited. The town, and the owner of the town act as a host, and people can then visit the town.
  • Copper and Booker, former police dogs are now the Gatekeepers, who run the gate where you can visit other villages, and prevent people from entering yours.
  • When you visit another person's village, they will receive a message telling them that you arrived; the same goes for when somebody enters your village.
  • The gate is a portal to your village -- if you have somebody visiting, you will need to have the gate open. If you want to go somewhere, you will also need to have the gate opened.
  • Anyone can create constellations, so you may even see your friends constellation up in the night sky.
  • Players can randomly receive messages in bottles from people all over the world.
  • Make sure to read the Wi-Fi Guide for more information!
