Nick's Diaries
Day 5, Began 10:51am
Dear Diary, today is a big day for Villa village. Tanuki has closed his old antiquated shop and he is renovating! According to the flier he sent to the villagers, it will be a convenience store. How nifty!
Well, today I received my usual allotment of fossils, and my HRA rating. 7369. I hope that's good. As I went back inside to check out the clean fossils, I noticed my pear tree outside my house was all grown, and had pears on it. Now if I ever get hungry, I can just step outside into my garden. How cool is that? The fossils I received were two eggs, and a large bone structure. It might be a tail, or a long spine. I'm not sure. I packed up the two eggs, and moved the bone structure into my hooligan storage device outside.
What am I going to do with these eggs until he reopens, I thought to myself ...
While waiting for an idea to hatch in my head, I decided to do my daily trash run. Ooh, paper. That will come in handy for posting new fossils to the museum, since Tanuki has closed his doors. The paper appears as a standard postal mail design, oh, and it is prestamped. The stamp is a Nintendo stamp ... I hear that is a big company in another village. I also found some real camouflage clothes. With this new outfit, I've decided the other outfit I described as camouflage is certainly NOT camouflage. He he.
I decided I shouldn't do to much today, since I don't have anything to do with stuff I don't want, but I best not leave my neighbors needing help.
I began my rounds at Ma-ru's house, but she didn't need anything done. I then headed south, with a little westerly wind, to find Éclair's house. She had lost her watch! These villagers are so forgetful some days. After much searching, including being sent to the same person TWICE, I recovered the lost watch and brought it to Éclair. She was ecstatic; the watch was a gift from a friend. She paid me with a neon green outfit with a neon green flower on the cap & front/back. I felt like I was a beacon in the forest. I had to get rid of it.
After much though, I decided to bury all the things I need to sell near Tanuki's shop. At this time, there are three little dirty patches showing where I buried stuff. He he, I think the collection may grow until he reopens ... I hope this renovation doesn't take too long.
I continued from Éclair's house to the home of Gewoashikofu, we gossiped about some of the neighbors, but no task was required of me. Alas, Karupi too did not need anything done.
What happened next was a true experience I will remember for all my days. I was walking along the beach looking for buried objects, and I came along a duck passed out on the beach. I put away my shovel and poked and prodded him a while, with no response. I continued to check him to see if he was all right. Other than a nasty wound over his eye, he seemed fine. I woke him, and he seemed stunned to find himself on the mainland. He is a sailor, whose ship was destroyed in a storm, and he wanted to know where he was. I explained Villa village to him, and pointed him in the direction of the train, though he kept staring out to sea. He thanked me for my help, and rewarded me with a yellow indi-glo clock. It was even preset for the local time, how nice.
In retrospect, I realized how bad it would have looked if one of the Officers had walked by when I first found the duck. I was standing over him wielding a shovel, and he was passed out before me like I had beaten him down. That would have been bad for my image.
I left the duck standing there on the beach and continued on my way to Bu-ke's house. We spoke about trivial matters, and she did not need any errands run. She did have an outfit she wanted to sell me. The price was exorbitant, but she said she had made it herself. I decided I would risk the cash to see her work.
WoW! The outfit is a shade of pink, with white daisy flowers on it. I actually look good in this. This is a keeper.
I stopped by Chiamazu's place. He hadn't been up long enough that he was outside yet, so I went inside to talk to him. He asked me how I was doing, and whether I liked Villa village. I told him I was great, and Villa village is so much nicer than my hometown. My hometown is full of people who never need anything, and there is no room for advancement. All the children of residents are sent away once they reach the age of majority and that they stay away. How mean is that, I sobbed!
Anyways, he didn't need any things done but he did have a peach he didn't want that he gave me. If only I had known, I wouldn't have paid 3000 bell to Safurina for one the other day. I went in search of old fossils before heading out to John's house. I did find a couple of them, so I put them in my pack, and continued my journey through town to find some jobs.
John too needed nothing, what an unlucky day for tasks!! He did sell me some paper with a daisy chain pattern. With what he gave me, and what I found in the trash I posted the fossils to the museum and went home to play indoors for the rest of the day.
