In addition, we seem to be experiencing some technical difficulties with our forums. Bear with us; it will be taken care of as soon as possible. |
Red Tulip Update | Posted by Jess on January 29, 2006 @ 3:54 PM EST | We know that there was a rumor going around that the notorious red tulips were sent out by a master hacker, but in reality, these tulips were sent out over the WFC by Nintendo by accident. For those of you who have put the red tulips in your house, hang on and don't wipe your game; Nintendo is working on a downloadble fix.

Red Tulip Glitch | Posted by Jess on January 26, 2006 @ 3:48 PM EST | Various users on our forums have reported receiving glitchy red tulips in the mail after connecting to the Nintendo WFC.
After using wifi, a letter shows up in your mailbox. The title of this letter is garbled characters, and it is usually blank when read. There is a present attached. When you unwrap it, you will find a furniture leaf called "red tulips" inside. However, if you put it in your house, it disappears and cannot be picked up again. You cannot put furniture in the spot where you dropped the glitchy tulip.
However, if you drop the tulip outside, it can be planted anywhere in the town, including the stones in front of your house. If you pick the flower up again after it is planted, it seems to become a normal red tulip again (and will have the properties of a normal red tulip).
We don't know if there are any other negative effects of this tulip, but we recommend deleting the letter or restarting immediately if you've placed the tulip in your house.

The Mysterious Monkeys | Posted by Jess on January 26, 2006 @ 2:54 PM EST | Players who own Oideyo Doubutsu no Mori (the Japanese version of Animal Crossing: Wild World) have noticed that there are monkeys in the game that have not been mentioned in any of the games, North American or Japanese. These monkeys resemble Porter (from Animal Crossing) in build rather than the Gorilla/Ape types, such as Pee Wee.
Previously, we posted pictures provided of one of these monkeys from ODnM. Now, we have several photos up on the screenshots page six mysterious monkeys' character pictures that were unlocked via a 3rd party device. Someone made the effort to provide these monkeys with English names and comments. What's the deal with these guys? Well, we don't know. If you have any news, please send it to axawebsite@megadoomer.com.
Thanks to Liquefy, the owner of these items, for allowing me to take pictures. |
Master Item List Update | Posted by Jess on January 24, 2006 @ 2:27 PM EST | As promised, Chrono has recently completed updating the Master Item List for Animal Crossing: Wild World with the full listing of colors and genre needed to calculate HRA scores. The listing of colors were provided by Liquefy, who also researched the updated HRA guide.

Day of Destiny: Texture vs. Texture | Posted by Joe Sunrider on January 23, 2006 @ 11:46 PM EST | If you recognize the above quote as a reference to a Dragon Ball insert song you get 200 cool points.
Anyway, big ups to my homedizzle Z for winning last week's Ripped Texture contest with his Paper Mario texture!
This week, we've got both the Freehand and Ripped contests going, so make sure to vote, and keep sending in those textures! |
Revised HRA Guide Up | Posted by Jess on January 20, 2006 @ 9:10 PM EST | Thanks to Liquefy, there's a brand new version of the HRA Scoring Guide for Animal Crossing: Wild World up on the site. The data that was previously posted was based on the information contained in Nintendo Power's Official Guide to Animal Crossing: Wild World. Much of the HRA information contained in this guide is inaccurate; it reflects the scoring for Animal Crossing (GCN) instead.
After some very thorough experimenting, Liquefy has produced the correct HRA point scores, as well as some new categories of scoring: color and genre. To reflect the changes to the HRA guide, Chrono will be updating the Animal Crossing: Wild World Master Item List with color and genre information.
We will post a Feng Shui guide to accompany the HRA Guide in the near future. |
