Animal Forest + Toys

Takara Toys Information

In 2001, Takara Toys put out a line of official Doubutsu No Mori + (Animal Forest +) figures. These figures were exclusive to Japan, ranging from a half inch to an inch high. The most basic set (the F-series) included an animal or human character with two pieces of furniture. More rarely, a package included two figures with one or no pieces of furniture. More deluxe sets included a house and furniture but no character (H-series), or a human, two animals, several pieces of furniture and a basic house (S-series). Later, models of the post office, museum, upgraded houses and other special buildings were available with furniture and characters. Each figure is clearly marked "Nintendo" with its respective date.

For example, package F-19 contains two figurines: K. K. Slider and Kapp'n in his boat. Kappn's boat is clearly designed to hold another AC figure of standard size. If you open up F-19 and check between the cardboard insert, there should be a plastic bag with a Japanese E-reader card, stickers, an advertisement for the other toys in the set, and what seems to be a mail order/survey card. Sadly, the Japanese E-reader card is not compatible with the American E-reader machine. The stickers in F-19 make up for any E-reader disappointment; they were of furniture items that were clearly unavailable in the American and European versions of Animal Crossing. Additionally, the ad gave us an idea of what a completed village could look like making us wish that Nintendo had released such figures in other countries!

S-2: Front | Back | Figures | House Interior | Stickers

The model houses are about three inches tall, and the roof is removable in order to place furniture inside. S-2 has a Lovely Theme: the set contains three pieces of Lovely furniture (bed, dresser, and vanity), the wallpaper and carpet, and even the roof is painted a complimentary pink. The door and gyroid have moveable parts. The S-2 figures include a pink-haired girl dressed in a strawberry shirt (different eyes than F-1), Bunnie (who is wearing a different shirt than seen in F-14) and F-6 Goldie. There is also an apple tree with removable apples. Inside are the standard advertisement, a mail order card, a Japanese E-reader card, and a set of stickers.

Poll
Have you turned your AC:WW town into a Water World?
 Yes, yay for Nintendo Power!
Eh, I came up with a world design of my own.
Nope, I don\'t have the time to do that kind of thing.
