Wii Fossil ListEach morning when the clock turns over 6:00 am, 3 buried fossils will be in your town. If you did not find them from the day before, you will not have 6, the number remains constant at 3 total each morning. They appear as star-shaped cracks in the ground (like gyroids or the pitfall seed). You can dig the fossils up with any shovel.Once dug up, they appear in your inventory as a snail shaped gray rock. This is an unidentified fossil. You must take the unidentified fossil to Blathers at the museum for identification. Although, Blathers is nocturnal, you can wake him up to give him fossils at anytime. If you select donation, he will ask if you want him to identify it first. Once you select, yes, he will identify it. If someone in your town has not donated the fossil previously, he will describe it to you and take it from you to display in the museum. If the fossil has already been donated, he will reluctantly return it to you. You can sell identified fossils to Tom Nook. An identified fossil will show up as a skull and bones in your inventory or if dropped on the ground. If you do not wish to donate a fossil, you may select, Check a fossil! from Blathers. He will then identify it and return it to you. Identified fossils can be sold to Tom Nook, displayed in your house, sold during Flea Market Days, traded with other players, or put in the Auction House in the City.. Here is a list of fossils and what Tom Nook will pay for them: Fossils
